PT Bursa Efek Indonesia - BEI or Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is the Indonesian self regulatory organization engaged facilitating capital market development. The Company operated under supervising of The Indonesian Finance Ministry and as a merger result between Jakarta Stock Exchange and Surabaya Stock Exchange in 2007. The Company's head office is located in Jakarta and operated in several major cities in all over Indonesia. As of December 2011, IDX stock market capitalization reached Rp3,537.29 trillion, or a growth of 8.94% compared to 2010 market capitalization of Rp3,247.10 trillion. Meanwhile, the stock trading value also increased by 4.01% to Rp1,223.44 trillion in 2011 from Rp1,176.24 trillion in 2010. In 2011, for the third time IDX received a prestigious award as The Best Stock Exchange in Southeast Asia in The 4th Annual Best Deal & Solution Awards, by Alpha Southeast Asia Magazine.
