Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa - UNTIRTA or Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is a reputable state university in Banten province. The University was formed in 1981 as a private university under the name of School of Law (Indonesian : Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum - STIH). In 1984, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa was launched as a merger results of 3 higher education institutions in Banten, namely  STIH, the College of Engineering (STT) and the College of Teaching and Education Sciences (STKIP). In 2001, the University transformed into a state university. At present, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University hosts 6 faculties and 1 graduate school. The University offers 3 diploma programs, 21 undergraduate programs, and 3 master programs. As of August 2012, UNTIRTA supported by 498 civil servant lecturers and 177 civil servant administration staff.
