Responsibilities:
- Categorizing web content under existing taxonomy and helping determine its evolution.
- Describe web sites to effect concise abstracts useful to search engines.
- Making judgments about the quality and appropriateness of web content sources.
- Performing relevance tests designed to measure data quality across Yahoo’s search products.
- Analyzing user behavior and making recommendations based on those observations.
- Communicating directly with customers via email about web content submitted to Yahoo!
- Able to program journalistic content working in cooperation with the news editors and product managers
Experience
- A minimum of two years’ working experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Arts/Social Sciences.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia.
- Extensive awareness of American culture, pop culture, and general knowledge.
- Extensive internet experience either from a previous job or personal use.
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm or more.
- Acute knowledge of current affairs and trends
- Knowledge of search engines, searching the Web, and online trends.
- Able to describe Search experiences in their market.
- Familiarity with online social networking products.
- Ability to multitask on several projects including setting and structuring priorities.
- Experience in reading and classifying large volumes of data into complex classification schemes a plus.
- Ability to assess authoritativeness, topical pertinence, and overall quality of web pages.
- Ability to work independently within a team setting.
- Ability to think in the abstract
- Familiarity with HTML, XML, and basic web page design is a plus.
