Part of Trans Corporation. owned by Chairul Tanjung, it began broadcasting on 15 December 2001. Trans TV is one of the prestigious rapidly growing televisions and aims to be one of the best TV stations in Indonesia. The station is similar to other commercial stations, showing news, movies, drama series, variety shows, quiz shows, and children's programs. Trans TV programming includes variety shows such as Insert gossip shows, Big Brother Daily Show, Jelajah, Pepi the Explorer. It also broadcasts religious programs, movies, soap operas and regular news.
