Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, & Geofisika - BMKG or the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics is a non ministrial agency in Indonesia in charge of carrying out government duties in the field of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics affairs. The Agency initially known as Magnetisch en Meteorologisch Observatorium, a Dutch Institution which was established in 1886. In 2008 its name changed into current name based on Presidential Decree No. 61 of 2008. BMKG is based in Jakarta and headquartered in Jl Angkasa 1 No.2, Kemayoran Jakarta Pusat. The Agency owned 10 area offices, and 5 great hall of BMKG located in Medan, Ciputat, Denpasar, Makassar dan Jayapura. The Agency also supported by 174 Meteorological stations across Indonesia.
