The Ministry of National Development Planning in performing their duties using organizational unit named by the National Development Planning Agency (Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional - BAPPENAS). BAPPENAS is responsible for formulating national development planning in Indonesia, both for annual, five-years, and long-term.  Since 2009, Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana become the Minister for National Development Planning and also Head of BAPPENAS. She is assisted by 9 deputies, and 41 derectorates respectively in charge of specific areas.
