Kotamadya Serang - Kota Serang or the City of Serang is the capital city of Banten Province, Indonesia. Kota Serang is situated towards the north of Banten province. The City was established on 2 November 2007 and formerly as a part of Serang Regency. The City of Serang occupies an area of 267 km2. According to Statistic Indonesia (BPS) 2010 Cencus, Kota Serang was reported as having a population of 576,961 people. The City administratively divided into 6 districs, namely Serang, Cipocok Jaya, Curug, Kasemen, Taktakan, and Walantaka. The City is lead by a Mayor, and since 2011 held by Tubagus Haerul Jaman, replacing Bunyamin.
