Kota Pekalongan - Pekalongan or the City of Pekalongan is a small city in Central Java, situated in 101 km west of Semarang. The City has an area of 41.25 km² and administratively divided into 4 districts, namely West Pekalongan district, East Pekalongan district, North Pekalongan district, and South Pekalongan district. The City is bordered to Pekalongan regency in the west and south, Java Sea in the north, and Batang regency in the east. The City of Pekalongan is headed by a Mayor and currently held by Muhammad Basyir Achmad. He is assisted by Alf Arslan Djunaid as a vice mayor. According to the latest data from the Bappeda and BPS Pekalongan, the population of the City of Pekalongan in 2010 was 276,158 people.
