Provinsi Jawa Tengah - Jateng or the Province of Central Java is a province of Indonesia, situated in the middle portion of the island of Java. The Province of Central Java is devided into 29 regencies and 6 cities with Semarang as its capital city. The Province has an area of 39,800.69 km2 and bordered to West Java in the West, East Java in the east, the Java Sea in the north, and the Indian Ocean and Yogyakarta Special Region in the south. According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the province's population in 2011 was 32,64 million people or 13.54% of the total population of Indonesia. This figures puts the Province of Central Java as the Indonesia's third most populous after West Java and East Java. The Current governor of Central Java is Ganjar Pranowo. He is is the governor of Central Java province for 2013-2018 term.
