Kementerian Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia - Ristek is the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Ristek has the duty to assist the President of Republic Indonesia in the field of research, science and technology affairs. Ristek was first established in 1962 as the Ministry of National Research Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2009 the name of the Ministry was renamed back to Ministry of Research and Technology based on Presidential Decree No 47 of 2009 after previously in 2005 called as the State Ministry of Research and Technology. Ristek is based in Jakarta and its head office is registered at BPPT II Building Level 5, 6, 7, 8, 23, 24 - Jl MH Thamrin 8, Jakarta 10340. Since 2011, Ristek was lead by Gusti Muhammad Hatta as the Minister for Research and Technology.
