Provinsi Jawa Timur - Jatim or the Province of East Java is a province of Indonesia, located at the eastern part of the Java Island. The provincial capital of East Java Province is Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia. Jatim has 229 islands with a land area of 47,130.15 km2 and a sea area of 110,764.28 km2. Jatim stretches between 111 ° 0 'E - 114 ° 4' E and 7 ° 12 'S - 8 ° 48' latitude. Jatim bordered to the Java Sea in the north, the Strait of Bali in the east, the Indian Ocean in the south, and Central Java Province in the west. According to the 2010 cencus held by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) as cited by JobsCDC.com, Jatim has 37,476,011 people. The Province of East Java is led by a Governor, and currently held by Soekarwo (for the second periods). He is assisted by Syaifullah Yusuf as a vice Governor.
