Kementerian Pertanian Republik Indonesia - Kementerian Pertanian or commonly abbreviated as DEPTAN is the Ministry of Agriculture Republic of Indonesia. The Ministry is an Indonesian government ministry which oversees Agriculture affairs. Kementerian Pertanian was formerly known as Departemen Pertanian (DEPTAN) or the Departement of Agriculture. The Ministry is domiciled in Jakarta and its head office is registered at Jl Harsono RM No 3, Ragunan Jakarta 12550. Since October 2009, Suswono was appointed by the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), replacing Anton Apriantono. The Minister of Agriculture was assisted by Rusman Heriawan as a vice minister. To carry out his duties, the Minister of Agriculture also supported by 5 expert staff, 5 Directorate General, and 5 agencies under the ministry of agriculture.
