PT Astra Honda Motor - AHM is the largest motorcycle company in Indonesia. The Company is a sole agent (ATPM) of Honda Motorcycle in Indonesia, performing business in the field of manufacturing, assembling and distributing of Honda motorcycle. PT Astra Honda Motor is 50% owned by Japan-based automotive giant Honda Motor Company Ltd and 50% by the Country's strongest business group PT Astra International Tbk. PT Astra Honda Motor was first established in 1971 as PT Federal Motor. In 2001, PT Federal Motor and its subsidiaries were merged into PT Astra Honda Motor. At present, AHM has 3 manufacturing plants with installed production capacity of 4.2 million units per year. In May 2014, AHM initiated construction of its 4th manufacturing plant with total production capacity of 1.1 million units annually in Karawang, West Java and will be fully completed in mid-2014. According to PT Astra International Tbk annual report 2013 as cited by JobsCDC.com, PT Astra Honda Motor was able to sold 4.7 million units of Honda motorcycle in 2013 (increased 15% from previous year), with market share of 61% of total national motorcycle sales reached 7.7 million units.
