The United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture - UNESCO is an integral part of the United Nations (UN) that deals with education, the sciences, culture, communication and information. UNESCO was founded on 16 November 1945. The Agency is registered at Paris France and has 195 state members and 8 Associate Members. As of December 2012, the Agency was supported by 50 field offices worldwide, including Indonesia. In Indonesia, UNESCO is domiciled in Jakarta and its field office is registered at Jl Galuh II no 5, Kebayoran Baru Jakarta 12110. The UNESCO Jakarta Office has 2 office functions; namely as a cluster office and regional bureau for science. As a cluster office, UNESCO Jakarta Office covers Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, and Timor Leste. As a regional bureau for science, UNESCO Jakarta Office covers Asia and the Pacific Region.

National Programme Officer

Requirements
- Master degree or equivalent, majoring in education or related field of Social Sciences with emphasis on Education policy and planning, management, research, monitoring and evaluation.
- At least 4 years of progressively responsible relevant experience, of which at least 2 years in the planning, development and implementation of educational programmes.
- Professional working experience in the education sector, preferably with government and with international education sector development partners, and in depth knowledge of the challenges in the sector.
