Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya - PPNS or Shipbuilding Institute of Polytechnic Surabaya (commonly abbreviated as SHIPS) is reputable state polytechnic in Indonesia situated in Surabaya, the capital city of East Java Province. PPNS is based in Jl Teknik Kimia, Kampus ITS Sukolilo, Surabaya 60111. PPNS was first established in 1979 as a Non-degree programs, at the Department of Naval Architecture of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya (ITS). In 1986, Politeknik Perkapalan – ITS was launched with the help of the World Bank. In 1996, Politeknik Perkapalan – ITS renamed into Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya - ITS. In 2014, PPNS officially became an independent institution.
