PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk - Sampoerna or known as PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (IDX code : HMSP) is a public-listed tobacco giant, has a dominating market share of about 34.9% in terms of tobacco market in Indonesia. The Company is owned and managed by American-based Philip Morris International Inc (PMI), one of the world’s largest tobacco companies with controls about 15.6% of the global cigarette market and its products sold in more than 200 countries worldwide. At present, PMI holds 97.95% ownership of the Company’s shares through PT Phillip Morris Indonesia. Other 2.05% remaining shares was owned by public shareholders. PT HM Sampoerna Tbk is based in Surabaya East Java and also has a Jakarta corporate office. Nowadays, the Company operates 9 cigarette plants (including 2 machine-made factories, 7 handrolled kretek factories) in East Java (Surabaya, Pasuruan, Malang, and Probolinggo) and West Java (Karawang). PT HM Sampoerna Tbk also supported by 38 third-party operators (TPO) and 105 sales offices across Indonesia. In term of financial performance, PT HM Sampoerna Tbk managed to strengthen its financial performance in the first semester of 2015 (ended in 30 June 2015).
